Role: Sr. Business Systems Analyst
Location: Denville, NJ
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the design and implementation of solutions that enhance data capture, analysis, and reporting capabilities. Position will play a principal role in the procurement of operational data for reporting and analysis, as well as ensuring data integrity and reliability for internal and external customers.
The Business Analyst conducts analysis of metrics and reports to identify shifts, trends and/or anomalies. Investigates and documents root causes for these observations and recommends actions. Consults in developing new metrics and refining current metrics definitions. Audits data management processes to ensure accuracy. Documents processes for reporting and identifies opportunities for process improvements.
Communicates with all levels of employees and management, including senior level owners of respective business units. Will be expected to understand large data sets, while isolating and aggregating relevant information. Creates presentations and delivers to leadership, effectively communicating recommendations and plans.
Role and Responsibilities:
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources – including business, finance, operational, client and IT teams, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external (when required) and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen, Error messages and Interface designs)
Perform risk analysis of all initiatives for all departments
Review financial analysis of impact of all initiatives in each department
Document and review all testing and validation procedures of all use cases
Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Be the liaison between the business units, technology, operations and support teams.
Provide advanced business knowledge and document Business requirements, Business rules and Business Process flows.
Analyzes business process operations to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Work closely with analysts, developers and requestors identifying data and functional requirements in the design of new/enhanced systems.
Provide advisory support to ensure the development and implementation of applications that provide adherence to business requirements.
Review QA testing output and test results.
Lead User Acceptance Testing and Test data preparation
Co-ordinate and lead application check out during off peak business hours and weekends.
Provide "day to day" guidance to team members for business / project initiatives.
