Responsible for providing application and data: architecture, vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving on an enterprise level.
This individual anticipates Information Technology (IT) industry future directions and relates to future architecture needs and projects within IT; documents the applications architecture blueprint for IT and ensures that all IT projects are adhering to relative standards; involves interfacing across several technical and business areas, acts as a visionary to infrastructure issues and acts as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions; provides technical and architectural direction to the software team supporting ABC that is primarily serviced by an IT outsourcer; may be called upon to provide any level of project management for single or multiple projects within Information Technology.
Provides technical and architectural direction to the software development team.
Demonstrates commitment to sound development processes. Responsible for the translation and construction of complex business problems into sound technical solutions.
Ensures that development efforts are adhering to analysis, design and development standards.
Manages day-to-day issues and tasks related to the development life cycle of multiple IT projects.
Provides insight and guidance on overall system design and provides technical leadership to development staff as required.
Responsible for business object architecture and application technical architecture.
Develops technology road maps for the application architecture and development groups.
Documents and communicates architectural requirements within a distributed development environment, including standards and processes.
Collaborates on strategy and architecture with development managers, line of business managers and senior IT staff.
Promotes the architecture agenda and sells it to the line of business and IT management staff.
Recommends proactive courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
Proactively assists in defining direction for future projects.
Establishes audit objectives and devises audit plans to ensure continued data integrity in our applications systems.
Recommends designs for information systems that will perform well logically and physically in our environment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of informational and analytical management inquiry of well-integrated, subject oriented historical data Ability to construct information models to meet business requirements Advanced software development and architectural skills with excellent knowledge of distributed computing.
Demonstrated ability to develop and release quality products on time in an emerging technology environment Solid understanding of distributing computing and development experience such as EJB, SQA, COM, Cobra, J2EE Experience with architectural abstractions and design patterns Experience with object-oriented modeling principals (inheritance polymorphism) and methods (use cases, sequence diagrams, etc)
Experience with application servers such as Weblogic, iPlanet or Websphere Excellent problem solving and communication skills Ability to interface with all parts of the organization including sales, operations, supply chain, finance and executive management.
Ability to identify group conflicts and facilitate resolution Experience in creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems and situations Ability to identify and assess risk to determine action relative to project planning and management Ability to establish and maintain a high-level of customer trust and confidence
