Job Description:

The Project Manager Financial Capability will be responsible for coordinating tactical management of existing and new projects with little supervision. This position requires solid, proven skills in project management, time management, and risk identification and mitigation.

Core Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director of Financial Capability to:
• In partnership with the Head of MVA, help define and implement MVA Financial Capability strategy;
• Develop and run financial literacy workshops
• Develop internal and external public, private, and non-profit partnerships (e.g., DOL/DOD to refine TAP, VA, HUD) to collaboratively address the financial capability needs of Veterans;
• Collaborate extensively with Global Philanthropy to identify strategic non-profit organizations that will enhance MVA’s financial capability goals (e.g., Financial Capability efforts, Community Development/Affordable Housing efforts);
• Collaborate with Community Development Banking to enhance MVA’s financial capability goals;
• Assist with the development of internal employment policies where applicable (e.g., Guard and Reserve);
• Oversee the successful execution of the 1,000 Home Awards Program and establish a sustainable housing program going forward;
• Develop and manage multiple project plans; responsibilities include researching emerging trends, developing clearly defined project goals, objectives, and deliverables, measuring project success through measures of performance and measures of effectiveness, and managing project budget;
• Produce project reporting and tracking documentation; outputs include, but not limited to, status reporting, project plans, and issue/defect tracking;
• Act as a communication channel between MVA and other stakeholders;
• Ensure project aligns to original expectations and scope, identify risks, and assist in the facilitation of issue resolution;
• Ensure compliance of project activities with audit and risk policies;
• Facilitate/lead meetings at the business and project levels;

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) with 5 or more years of experience in project management; military experience is a plus;
• Understanding the issues and needs impacting the military Veteran community and familiarity with critical programs (public, private, and non-profit) that address these needs;
• Process and results-oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Strong skills with Microsoft office products required (Excel, PowerPoint, Access);
• Highly organized, extremely detail and control orientated;
• Strong decision-making skills combined with time management and project management/planning skills;
• Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines within a fast-moving professional environment;
• Superior verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with different levels of management;
• Experience and comfort with public speaking;
• Ability to work collaboratively and to develop strong, positive working relationships across a matrixed organization required."
