The Bureau of Network Technology and Telecommunication Services (NTTS) aims to provide DOHMH programs and staff, external partners and providers, and NYC residents relying on agency systems and services with a highly reliable and available network infrastructure and services for both voice and data.
The Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery team is in place to develop, test, and document a comprehensive business continuity plan that assists with the recovery of critical agency applications and support systems in the event of unforeseen disasters or significant service disruptions.
NTTS also provides around-the-clock management and monitoring of internal and public-facing applications, desktop computing, and network infrastructure, which are critical components of the ongoing COVID-19 response.
Summary of Position: DOHMH has an opening forone Network Services Coordinator who will coordinate ,triage, and manage COVID-19infrastructure-related requests and projects, as elasticise with requesters to gather requirements and ensure the needs are met.
Specifically, the Network Services Coordinator will:
Research, propose and implement enhancements to the IT infrastructure to meet agency objectives.
Monitor network and systems performance and resource utilization, ensuring system availability and reliability. Perform capacity planning.
Establish, maintain and report on service level agreements for Infrastructure systems and services.
Develop relationships with key business leaders to identify gaps in services and propose solutions to close the gaps.
Research and recommend solutions and tools; perform proof of concepts and vendor comparisons, offer solutions aligned with business requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
5+ yearsserving lead technical role in two or more of the following areas:
5+ years in SAN infrastructure/centralized storage.
3+ years in Server virtualization infrastructure in VMware and Citrix environment.
5+ years in Windows active Directory administration in an enterprise level environment.
3+ years Linux system administration.
2+ years in Business continuity and disaster recovery.
3+ years in Network administration and configuration.
2+ years in Information & Infrastructure Security.
2+ years in Enterprise wireless networking.
In-depth knowledge of best practices in network infrastructure design, standard network protocols, common network services, network management systems and troubleshooting tools and skills.
This is a temporary grant-funded position ending June 30, 2023.
Preference may be given to individuals residing in New York City (5 boroughs) or surrounding New York State counties.
This individual will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies.
